![]() Reinstall the plastic brackets that came with your motherboard (this is what got me stuck for a long time, it wasn't mentioned anywhere - luckily I am a hoarder with computer parts and kept these) - they're the plastic brackets above and below the socket in this picĬlean up any old paste on your CPU and Hyper 212 and reapply paste on your cpu To save any of you some trouble and assuming you already have the stock Wraith cooler installed, I had to do these steps: The instructions that come with the bracket are a joke - it took me about 45 minutes to realize how to install it. Micro Center sells the brackets for $2, so I decided to give it a try. After doing some quick googling, I found this reply by a CM employee: I thought I had to get a more modern cooler because Cooler Master's support list for the AM4 brackets did not include the Hyper 212 Plus. ![]() It's an older model cooler that predates the more popular Evo, but I have been using it since ~2011.
